Slagerij van Kampen
Why shouldn’t drums play the leading role in a band? With this question in mind, Mies Wilbrink and Willem van Kruijsdijk started the band “ Slagerij Van Kampen”, A rock group that plays percussion instruments exclusively. Their commitment to the world is translated into ethnically orientated, original compositions. Slagerij Van Kampen instantly start out on an independent path.
Where does the name come from....?
The band’s name comes from the Tintin comic strip album The Calculus Affair: during the whole comic strip people keep calling the Molensloot castle, wheras they actually want to get “slagerij Van Kampen” ( in this comic strip this is the local butcher) on the line. These wrong connections sometimes appear in other Tintin-comics too.
